DISC Mastery: How to work with Stakeholders & People
How to you Work Effectively with your Customers, Bosses, Peers and Subordinates? Working with people effectively is difficult because people are so different from who you are. Different people like and dislike different things, have different preferences and ways of doing things, have different expectations. One key to better working is by understanding their personality type – and adjusting our approach.
DISC Personality comprises of four distinct personalities – Dominant, Influential, Steady and Compliant.
The Dominant personalities in a nutshell are direct and decisive, risk takers and look at the big picture and bottom line. The Influencing personality is enthusiastic, optimistic, talkative and not good with details. The Steady personality is stable, approachable, good listeners but are quite risk adverse. The Compliant personality is detail-oriented, think very analytically and systematically and make decisions carefully with plenty of research and information to back it up.
The key to working with anyone is mastering several skill sets: understanding their personality and building relationships and aligning what we do according to their personality preference, which greatly increases the chances of a highly effective working relationship.
