Business Intelligence & Big Data 101

Business Intelligence & Big Data Analytics is a course customized and designed for the retail collection.  This program is supplementary to the Critical Analysis and Power Decisions program.  While Critical Analysis focuses on the softer side of analysis (i.e. customer problems, business challenges and recommendations), Business Intelligence is focus on the harder or more data centric part of analysis – analyzing, understanding the numbers.

This program will give managers the skill-sets to be able to manage big chunks of data in meaningful ways – through sorting and combining different datasets, learning to look for patterns such as maximums, minimums, trends, 80-20, SWOT analysis, etc.  Upon analysis of this data, participants will be able to come up with recommendations of what to eliminate, reduce, improve and create.  The BI (Business Intelligence) tool used in this program is Excel.

Participants will also learn how to format their conclusions into a presentation format and how to create scoreboards and a strategy on how to use their data to measure the most important metrices to look out for early warnings or opportunities in the market.

On day one, participants will be introduced to business intelligence and how to analyze data.  On day two participants will analyze their own business data, and compile it into a presentation as well as strategize how to use their business data to their advantage.
